The Sony SCD-1 Super Audio CD player gives you all the audio quality you would expect from a high-performance Sony product. Users enjoy the sleek, silver aluminum body of this classic high-end piece of technology. Its matte gray surface blends in well with an entertainment system and other electronics. The flat top panel slides back and forth to create a large opening for the CD. It's easy to insert your chosen disc to enjoy your favorite tunes.The SCD-1 also allows you to listen to a traditional CD with rich sound quality thanks to the addition of two optical pickups that are independent of each other. One operates at the 650nm wavelength used by a super audio CD and the other operates at a standard CD's 780nm wavelength. The Direct Stream Digital (SACD) format technology with 2.8224 MHz sampling frequency lies at the heart of this CD player. It helps to give song reproduction that original sound quality that audiophiles love. The SACD frequency range is between 2 Hz and 100 kHz, and the CD frequency range is between 2 Hz and 20 kHz. A CD balancer in the player ensures smooth rotation without wobbling, which can affect playback. You simply place the "CD chuck" on top of your disc before playing. Shipping in only available for limited items on the auction. Shipping is NOT available on large, over-sized items or on any LED/LCD/Plasma TV's or Monitors.
