Lot Description:

This named grouping has seven original WWII U.S. Army Air Corp officer's uniform pieces, with original ribbons, patches and pins. They are from Capt. Clarence J. Hein. who served in the fourth Fighter Group. This group was known as the American Eagles because early in the war they flew Spitfires. As American planes became available, they moved into P-47's and later P-51 Mustangs. One of the great Aces, Don Gentile, was part of this group. This grouping has both his enlisted and officers uniforms. It is believed he was promoted while serving in Europe. Capt. Hein was the recipient of the American Defense Service Medal and the European Campaign Medal.

Uniforms:
- Coat 1: This is a traditional "4-Pocket" officer's coat. It is assumed that this coat is size 36 Large (no size markings found) it was manufactured by Saks Fifth Avenue. This coat is in excellent condition; it was well taken care of and has all of its original buttons and snaps. It has no tears or fabric hooks.

- Coat 2: This is a traditional "4-Pocket" officer's coat. It is assumed that this coat is size 36 Large (no size markings found) it was manufactured by Chester Barrie from Great Britain. This coat is in excellent condition; it was well taken care of and has all of its original buttons and snaps. It has no tears or fabric hooks.

- Slacks: These are traditional dress uniform pants, designed to go with either these two 4-pocket coats. These pants have a 30 inch waist and a 30 inch inseam. They are in excellent condition; it was well taken care of and has all of its original buttons and snaps. It has no tears or fabric hooks.

- Coat / Slacks: These are traditional "4-Pocket" enlisted uniform coat and slacks. The coat is size 36 Large; it was manufactured on February 7th, 1940 by the Easton Clothing Company. The slacks are 30" waist with a 31" inseam. This coat and slacks are in excellent condition; they were well taken care of and have all of their original buttons and snaps. They have no tears or fabric hooks.

- Shirt: This is a USAAC EM's Cotton Long Sleeve Khaki Dress Shirt. I appears to be a size 32 with a 14 ½" neck size. This shirt is in good condition and has all of its original buttons.

- Cap: This is an original Garrison officer's cap. The cap is size 7 ¼, it was manufactured on February 23rd 1944. This cap is in excellent condition; it was well taken care of and has its original captain's bars and pin-striping edging.

All seven of these pieces are marked and or labeled with Clarence J. Hein's name and number. On these uniforms, you will find these original WWII ribbons, patches and pins.

In the event that bidding rights are terminated due to no-show invoices, bidders MAY be reinstated at the discretion of K-BID only after a penalty fee of 20% of the unpaid invoice(s) and a reinstatement fee of $25.00 has been paid to K-BID and a scanned copy of your driver's license emailed to us. INVOICED ITEMS WILL NOT BE AWARDED. The payment is punitive and meant to deter no-shows. Duplicate bidder accounts will be deactivated when they are determined to exist. If possible and at our discretion, K-BID reserves the right to delete any bid we believe has been placed by a suspect bidder. Any registration that shows up on our fraud detection system may be placed on hold and bids removed until the user is verified.
