1985 30th Anniversary Year Ford Thunderbird Elan Coupe with 5.0L, fuel-injected V8 engine, original white paint with red pin stripe and red interior.
This 1985 Thunderbird has been owned by one family, and was purchased new in 1985 in Antioch, CA. For the next 18 years, it was only driven 66,264 miles, until the owner's death. It was then passed down to his daughter, in 2003, who only put an additional 17,474 miles on the vehicle. It has never been smoked in, never driven in snow or on salted roads, and has always been garaged. Copy of the Carfax report and recorded maintenance items available.
This Elan edition has a loaded interior, keyless entry buttons, power steering, power brakes, power door locks and windows, power mirrors, power seat adjustments, digital displays and console, electronic climate control, and low mileage on one of Ford's best engines! Be sure to SEE VIDEO and read the Features and Notes section below!

Features and Notes:
As one of Ford's most ambitious designs, this generation T-bird created a new, sleeker era at Ford, and the design influence eventually spread to everything from the Taurus to the Mustang. The classic red interior is fully finished and coordinates greatly with the white exterior. For this 30th Anniversary year, they made sure to fill it with luxury features. That means plush bucket seats that power adjust to the ideal comfort position. This is made for luxury, so the rear seats have a decent amount of space all around, and each row has a fold-down armrest for individualized comfort. You get power windows, power mirrors, power locks, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and electronic climate control. Plus, the digital gauge package was a cool option for the time, and was standard on this loaded anniversary car. Under the hood is a fuel-injected version of Ford's famous 5.0-liter V8. That means this one has nearly as deep a performance parts catalog available as the Mustang. Plus, it has the best grand touring features, like cruise control and a four-speed automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive. Add in power steering and front disc brakes, and you'll realize that this easy cruising classic will make it irresistible to add miles on this survivor's low odometer!
We drove this vehicle for a 2 mile test drive. The front passenger window wouldn't go down/up, and the panel on the passenger side armrest was slightly detached (see pics). Please see all pictures and inspect for yourself to determine full condition, prior to bidding. There is a very moderate reserve on this vehicle.
The below maintenance notes were provided by the owner:
From January 2004 to 2012 only routine service required. Although this vehicle was registered in a county declared a flood disaster area by FEMA after Hurricane Katrina, this vehicle was secured at a home at Lake Lorman in Madison County, an area unaffected by the flooding. Vehicle was not damaged from the FEMA declared disaster and that fact is included on the Carfax report.
Other than routine, regular maintenance, the below items have also been done:
March 2018 - New Battery, 5 year type.
Oct 2016 - Oil gauge light malfunction, indicating low oil level, when in fact oil level was normal. Repair unnecessary.
June 2012 - AC Compressor leak. Would have to upgrade system from R12 Freon to R134A. This retrofit was not practical.
March 2012 - Four new tires installed.
Dec 2003 (68827 miles) - New alternator, volt reg, drive belts, and MPT battery installed.
Dec 2003 - Driver's side seat belt repaired, backrest mechanisms on both front seats repaired.
Nov 2003 (67138 miles) - EGR valve and sensor replaced, AC recharged, heater core and hoses replaced.
Nov 2003 - (66428 miles) - New lower hinge on LF door installed.
Oct 2003 - (66264 miles) - New distributor, rotor, spark plugs and wires, EGR sensor, EVP, TFI, air filter, PCV valve.
**Update 4/24. Description previously stated that "air conditioning blew cool air". Upon further inspection it was determined that air conditioner does not work.
THERE IS NO ONLINE PAYMENT AVAILABLE ON THIS ITEM.
INSPECTION DAY is April 26th from 10:00am-1:00pm.
