Lot Description:
  • Siebe Gorman & Co.
  • Mining equipment manufactured by Siebe Gorman around 1910. Antique portable air horn used down mines and along the coasts in adverse weather as safety equipment. Dating to after 1904 this portable device can break down for easy transportation and storage. When fully extended and squeezed it makes a formidable sound associated most commonly with fog horns in a lighthouse. This pressure air horn is operated with leather bellows which are supple and usable. This vintage piece of mining nautical safety equipment would make a great conversation piece or addition to your mining or nautical antiques collection.
  • Air horn measures 11“ wide by 14“ deep by 41.5“ tall and weighs almost 9 lbs. The copper horn unscrews from the bellows so it can be broken down. The horn diameter measures 12" across.
