To view an image by Carson Gladson is to see nature in its distinctly natural state, undisturbed by the disruptive phases of mankind, staying its own steady course. Internationally renowned for his sensitive portrayals of nature, Gladson started painting at a young age and loved to browse art supply stores in his childhood town, Oakland. At fourteen, the exuberant artist, upon completing his first painting, strapped it to his bicycle and peddled straight to the Oakland Museum of Art. After catching his breath, he asked for and was granted an audience with the art director for a professional critique of his work. Encouraging words spurred Gladson on to pursue art in his curriculum throughout high school.
Other interests competed for his attention, however, namely music. As an entering student at Chapman College, Gladson approached the music department to plan his coursework. As luck would have it, Gladson came at a time when all the professors were out of the office. Spying the teachers milling around the art department's office across the hall, Gladson went over to casually see about enrolling in an art class or two. Hours later, Gladson had switched his major to art and was enrolled in all art classes. He has never looked back since. After receiving his M.A. from California State University and going on to additional graduate coursework at University of California in Los Angeles, Gladson received an Assistant Professorship at California State University in Northridge. In 1973, he became Professor of Art at El Camino College, where he continues to teach today.

Failure to comply with auction terms, including removal requirements, may result in suspension of bidding privileges.

Sales Tax
Applicable sales tax will be collected by the affiliate managing the auction.
