These two etchings with color are printed from plates made circa 1750-1784 by publishers John Bowles and his son Carington Bowles. Yellowing has occurred on the artwork and their mats, but the artwork is in good condition within the frames, given their age. The pieces are framed identically in wood frames with gold and silver finishes, size 19" x 23.5". Mild chipping on each frame at the sides, see photos. There is a stain in the lower right of the 2nd piece.

Ranelagh Gardens was one of several pleasure gardens in London, and opened in 1741. The Gardens often hosted famous visiting musicians, including the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1764.
Carington Bowles (1724-1793) Son of John Bowles to whom he was apprenticed in 1741, and with whom he was in partnership as John Bowles & Son, at the Black Horse, Cornhill, London, from 1752 or 1753 to c.1762. He left in order to take over the business of his uncle, Thomas Bowles II in St Paul's Churchyard.When Carington died in 1793 the business passed to his son (Henry) Carington Bowles

Inspection & Removal

Removal day is not an inspection day.

Compliance & Enforcement
Failure to comply with auction terms, including removal requirements, may result in suspension of bidding privileges.
If bidding privileges are suspended due to unpaid invoices:
Duplicate accounts will be deactivated. Suspected fraudulent activity may result in bid removal, account holds, or permanent suspension. K-BID reserves the right to refuse service to any user and may refer fraudulent behavior to appropriate authorities.
Seller Conduct
Sellers and their agents are strictly prohibited from bidding on their own items.
Sales Tax
Applicable sales tax will be collected by the affiliate managing the auction.
Shipping will be available for smaller items at the cost of shipping in addition to our processing fees. Our processing fee structure is as follows:
AFTER you have paid for your items on K-Bid, a separate invoice for the cost of shipping will be emailed to you.
We can not ship your items until you have paid your K-Bid invoice.
Smaller lots may be able to be bundled together- Inquire beforehand.
Shipping fees cannot be calculated in advance as the items have to be packaged and the package weighed and measured before shipping fees can be calculated.
Once the items have been sent to the shipping department and have been packaged for mail and you have been sent an invoice, picking up your item will no longer be an option as time and money will have been spent to package up your item/s. Thank you.
It may take up to one week after the auction closes for you to receive your shipping invoice.
