PRODUCT DETAILS

Tannerite Exploding Rifle Targets are useful for long range shooting practice, as they give immediate feedback when hit. Targets are supplied as 2 separate stable compounds, that when mixed as indicated in the instructions, produce an audible explosion and a cloud of vapor when struck with a high velocity bullet.

WHAT IS TANNERITE MADE OF?

Binary target markers (like Tannerite) are pre-packaged exploding targets comprised of two separate components, by definition–usually an oxidizer such as ammonium nitrate and a fuel such as powdered aluminum or another metal– that are by themselves safe to transport and possess under normal circumstances.

HOW DOES TANNERITE WORK?

The result of hitting the mixed components is usually a spectacular flash and boom, roughly akin to a saluting charge from a black powder cannon that you may see at a battlefield reenactment or a memorial event– but without having to buy the cannon.
Keep in mind, though, that not all binary targets on the consumer market are the same, as Tannerite has a patented formula that is specifically designed to produce a dramatic result while being safe to handle and, when detonated, is billed as being less likely than others to start a fire or create a secondary explosion.

IS TANNERITE LEGAL?

First off and upfront, Tannerite, as are most binary explosives, is treated the same as similar compounds such as black powder and smokeless powder and is perfectly legal to own and use for anyone who can legally possess a firearm.
Nonetheless, it is still subject to certain restrictions, especially when mixed, at which point the restrictions are much more rigid. All of these we will cover below.

Some counties in the State of California may require an explosive or destructive device permit for use of binary rifle targets. The purchaser of a Tannerite Brand Binary Rifle target kit should inquire with local county sheriff’s department about the need for a permit prior to use.

Each auction has a scheduled one-day removal unless otherwise pre-approved by Loretto Equipment BEFORE the auction closes.

If a successful bidder makes payment on an item / purchase and does not pick it up on the scheduled removal date, or make arrangements for shipping, the item / purchase will be held for 14 consecutive days (The 14 days include Saturday and Sunday)

If the buyer does not remove the item / purchase in the allotted 14-days, the item / purchase will be considered abandoned and forfeited.

Loretto Equipment will reserve the right to dispose of the item as desired. No credits / refunds / reimbursements will be given for items deemed abandoned / forfeited.

Auction Terms Addendum

This auction is contracted and managed by an independent auctioneer. By placing a bid, you agree to both the auction-specific terms listed on this page and the K-BID User Terms and Agreements.

Bidder Responsibilities

Auction Process

Items with a reserve will not sell unless the reserve price is met.
Reserves may be lowered at any time at the independent auction company's discretion:
- During the auction: updated reserve status will be displayed.
- After closing: the highest bidder may be awarded the item if the reserve is lowered.
At closing, items with active bidding will remain open until no bids are received for three (3) minutes.
Outbid notifications are not sent once an item enters the closing process.

Compliance & Enforcement
Failure to comply with auction terms, including removal requirements, may result in suspension of bidding privileges.

If bidding privileges are suspended due to unpaid invoices:

Reinstatement is at K-BID’s discretion
Requires payment of:
- 20% penalty on unpaid invoice(s)
- $25 reinstatement fee
A valid government-issued ID must be provided
Unpaid items will not be awarded

Duplicate accounts will be deactivated. Suspected fraudulent activity may result in bid removal, account holds, or permanent suspension. K-BID reserves the right to refuse service to any user and may refer fraudulent behavior to appropriate authorities.
