1994 1954 Topps Reprint Set - Complete ++
The 1954 reprint set as issued by Topps officially included 256 cards. Cards #1, #250, and #259 were of Mantle and Williams, and in 1994 Topps didn't have contractual rights to these players, so these cards were issued in Upper Deck instead (although they look exactly the same). This set not only includes all 259 cards, but it ALSO incudes a reprint set of 6 1954 Sports Illustrated New York Yankees players that were not in the original Topps set. This is a complete set you can't find, and some of the single cards (like the Williams cards) are tough all by themselves! Here is a full breakdown:
-- #1, #250 Ted Williams cards included in original 1954 set but unable to be released by Topps in 1994 due to contract and released through UD instead
-- #259 Mickey Mantle card never included in 1954 set (due to contracts in 1954) but included here--also released through UD
-- #2-#249 Original cards in the 1954 set and released by Topps in 1994
-- #251-#258 "Prospects" cards not included in original 1954 set but included in 1994 set and released by Topps
-- Unnumbered B&W Cards are Yankees cards not included in original 1954 set but included in 1954 issue of SI. Released as reprint cards by unknown company.
