26" TALL DOLL HOUSE SIZED MODEL OF A SWEDISH FARM BAKE HOUSE WITH INTRICATE HAND CRAFTED FURNITURE AND TOOLS

This large and sturdy two story structure is much more than a doll house! Machinist and wood carver Harry Bystrom created this model of a Swedish Farm House Bake House with incredibly precise details in the 1970's, and also the intricate hand-carved furniture w/ working drawers and doors, and miniature replicas of tools, skis and snow shoes. Come take a look inside this folk art treasure! Notice the fine craftsmanship and the tiny hinges and handles.

House (29" w x 18" d x 26.5" tall) - The walls of this all-wood structure are made of interlocking tongue-and-groove half logs - curved on the outside. There are eight square paned windows w/ real glass, a stone and masonry fireplace w/ a carved chimney extension on the 2nd floor and a 3" chimney on the roof. Two large doors in the front hinge open to reveal the interior. The small door w/ glass window is ornamental and does not open. The roof is covered in wood shake shingles.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Harry Bystrom (1901-1995) was a machinist and wood carver. He was born in Wisconsin and lived most of his adult life at 3112 Lyndale Avenue South. Mr. Bystrom loved to make detailed scale models of working things from the past, often from memory. He became known for his creations of steam engines and horse and buggy rigs from the 1914-1918 era, and was featured in an article in the Minneapolis Star Trib in 1964 (see photos).
