UPDATE 8/6/22: Keys have been found as well as a letter from The Minneapolis Institute of Arts that suggests this sideboard is from 1856-1863 and was worked on by Joseph Cabus.
Seller states this Alexander Roux American Renaissance Carved and Burled Walnut Sideboard is from 1856-1863. It measures 82x102x26. One piece of trim is missing and if seller finds that piece, we'll update this description.
This item is composed of three pieces for moving.

Alexander Roux (1813–1886) was a French-trained ébéniste, or cabinetmaker, who emigrated to the United States in the 1830s. He opened a shop in New York City in 1837. The business grew quickly: by the 1850s he employed 120 craftsmen in his shop and introduced then-new industrial technologies, such as steam-powered saws.[1]
Roux specialized in the ornate Rococo Revival style, but practiced many others. His work is highly sought by collectors, with larger and more complex pieces fetching large sums. One of his sideboards was featured in a 2000 exhibit at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.[1]

Compliance & Enforcement
Failure to comply with auction terms, including removal requirements, may result in suspension of bidding privileges.
If bidding privileges are suspended due to unpaid invoices:
Duplicate accounts will be deactivated. Suspected fraudulent activity may result in bid removal, account holds, or permanent suspension. K-BID reserves the right to refuse service to any user and may refer fraudulent behavior to appropriate authorities.
Seller Conduct
Sellers and their agents are strictly prohibited from bidding on their own items.
Sales Tax
Applicable sales tax will be collected by the independent auction company managing the auction.
Shipping is available for most items in this auction and MUST be arranged before the end of the removal time.
We try to get the shipping out the door by the following Wednesday after the removal dates.
If you want your item shipped, call or text us to let us know. Please do not pay your K-Bid invoice until we update it with the shipping cost.
Rates are $8.00 per package for packaging and handling PLUS actual shipping cost. We try to get all of your items in one box, sometimes it's not possible to do so.
We will ship via USPS or UPS, whichever rate is best. If your item requires purchase of special supplies this will be added to the cost.
