New To Houseboating? No Problem. No Prior Boating Experience Needed.
Anyone can operate a houseboat--it's so much easier than it sounds! Think of them as a big pontoon. But don't worry, our dock staff will give you an in-depth lesson on houseboating, our fishing boats (if rented), and the national park before you sail off. Each houseboat is equipped with GPS so we always know where you are, and each has a radio should you need to call in assistance. Our hospitality boat can also bring you more ice, firewood, bait, food, etc. at no extra cost.
The Houseboat: Sportcruiser 440 Deluxe
The Sportcruiser 440 Deluxe is our most popular boat, perfect for your family or group of friends. This boat comfortably sleeps 6-8 people and includes:
* Five double beds – Room for your whole crew
* One bathroom – We wouldn't let you go into the park without one! Plus, it has hot water
* 50-horsepower motor – Smooth cruising
* Stovetop, oven, and refrigerator – Catch your fish and eat it too
* Command bridge – Navigate with ease
* Generator – Reliable power for your trip
Fishing in Voyageurs National Park
Voyageurs National Park is one of the most water based national parks in the U.S and the ONLY national park in Minnesota. It covers about 218,000 acres (roughly 342 square miles) in northern Minnesota, along the Canadian border. Around 40% of the park is water, made up of interconnected lakes like Kabetogama, Namakan, and Sand Point. The rest is a mix of forests, rocky ridges, and small islands.
Early in the season, fish are usually shallow and active, especially around points and bays. Expect to catch walleyes, northern pike, and smallmouth bass. It’s a laid back place where you can relax, enjoy the scenery, and catch some solid fish without noise or pressure. Our fishing guide, Dale “The Bearded Wonder” is featured in the photos, showing what’s possible out there!
