The Alaska Mint has produced official State medallions every year since 1992. This spectacular 24 karat gold enhanced .999 silver round shares the State Seal reverse of all the others, but has a Grizzly w/Cubs obverse design never released to the public.
According to Mike Robuck, owner of Alaskan Mint, this was an exclusive release, one of 100-300 custom minted in 2003 for an art gallery in Kodiak (he couldn't recall exact mintage). This is among the most spectacular proof coins/rounds I’ve ever photographed. The fields are deep black mirrors, offset by cameo devices second to none. Likely a Top Pop and truly a spectacular and rare piece!
A note on the Reserve: All of AM's publicly available 24 karat enhanced silver State medallions are available from their website for $300 ea. This one is arguably worth more and will be submitted for grading if reserve is not met. Once a 3rd party verification of its exclusivity, and possibly a 1 of 1 designation as a Top Pop PF70 DCAM is obtained, its value will increase sharply.

Sales Tax
Applicable sales tax will be collected by the affiliate managing the auction.
Any items noted with the green shipping truck will be shippable for this auction. We ship through the USPS for every order. All packages are tracked and insured up to $100, if you would like to add additional insurance, or would like delivery by signature please make note in your shipping request.
All shipping requests must be made by the end of the removal period.
