McCulloch Model # 4318 / O-100, was built for and used during WWII in unmanned 'Radioplane' target drones, and also for Benson Gyrocoptors. 2 stroke, 4 cycle, 90HP and lightweight at only 70 lbs.
Norma Jeane's (later known as Marilyn Monroe) first job was working at the Radioplane Corporation, mounting propellers, painting fuselages, and making parachutes; it was at the Radioplane Corporation where a journalist first took a picture of Norma Jeane holding a McColluch O-100, and the rest is history..
This Drone engine appears mostly complete, it is missing the carburetor, would make a great restoration project!!
We were able to only find one completed past auction sale of one of these rare WWII Engines, and it was missing the propeller, and sold for $549.00
