This china cabinet is from the same elderly couple from whom we purchased the china cabinet/sideboard combination. We can state with certainty ii is antique and all original (except for the key) as the couple inherited it from the family member who purchased it. The piece was made by the West End Furniture Company which was established on July 7, 1890 and it, along with several other furniture companies, were on "Furniture Row" (along 7th to 12th Streets, along Railroad Avenue and the Chicago and North Western railroad tracks in Rockford, Illinois. There are numbers and letters written in chalk on the back of the unit. The shelves are stationary and have a double groove to display plates safely without an easel. It is in great condition and, after we had a replacement key made, the lock is functional. Overall it measures 60" tall by 41" wide by 17" deep.
