The check's signature has been certified authentic by Professional Sports Authenticators. For added security, the autograph is marked with an invisible DNA ink daub that will only illuminate under special infrared light.

The football is also inscribed 06 08 champs, a reference to Harvin's college team, The Gators, winning the BCS National Championship in both 2006 and 2008.
